Wow long day today. The rain cleared today and it was a beautiful day. So off we went to Vancouver Island. Left at 10:30 am. Got home at 10:30 pm. Ok so the short of it is, we took the ferry over. It takes 1 1/2 hours to get there from our landing. Huge ferry boats. We went to Butchart Gardens first. It is truly an amazing place. And to think it started as a rock quarry. I will post some pictures I took there today. The size of the zinnias was bigger than my hand! We spent several hours there. Then drove around the long way to Victoria. Saw a lot of the homes and country side. We walked around Victoria and saw a number of street performers. Shared a sandwich at a deli and listened to a sax player, who was quite good actually. Then back to the ferry for our return trip home. Oh and Bentley went too. He had a great day too. Now when we went to the ferry from the campground we had the gps give us the directions not using the freeway. So when we got off the ferry to come back we relied on our gps getting us back...well guess what, it wouldn't turn on...oh my GOD! We didn't have a map with us of the area, just the camping book. We got a little lost, but figured it out with maybe just a 30 minute detour. Technology, great when it works huh? Will work on it tomorrow. Ok going to try and post this and some pictures. (I guess it wasn't a short one though) I'm tired, Bentley and Jack are in bed, so I better go too!
